A couple of years ago, I was really into listening to the band Bright Eyes. But then I forgot about them because my iPod was lost and my laptop with my old iTunes died so all my music was lost.
A couple of days ago, blogger ACH from Making Stuff & Doing Things posted one of my favorite songs by Bright Eyes. Of course I stopped everything I was doing, and listened to it and loved it just as much as I used to.
So I thought I'd share the song and lyrics with you today, on Valentine's Eve, because I think it's a really great love song.
This is the first day of my life
Swear I was born right in the doorway
I went out in the rain, suddenly everything changed
They're spreading blankets on the beach
Yours was the first face that I saw
I think I was blind before I met you
I don't know where I am, I don't know where I've been
But I know where I want to go
So I thought I'd let you know
That these things take forever, I am especially slow
But I realized I need you
And I wondered if I could come home
And you said,
"This is the first day of my life.
Glad I didn't die before I met you.
Now I don't care, I could go anywhere with you
And I'd probably be happy."
So if you want to be with me
With these things there's no telling,
We'll just have to wait and see
But I'd rather be working for a paycheck
Than waiting to win the lottery
Besides, maybe this time is different
I mean, I really think you like me

I love Bright Eyes, too. Such a great song.
So cute! I just took a listen and this is a perfect song for hearts day. I’ve never heard this before. The video is super sweet too.
