Movie Advice Please!!

Let me just put it out there
for the blog world to know,

I am Lame with a capital L.

And here's why...

I have yet to go to the movie theater in 2009. What???!? I know, me of all people, a lover of movies (and the popcorn that comes with it) has not made time to go see a movie this year!

It's February 26th people. That's almost 2 entire months without being swept away to live in a make-believe world with a make-believe happy ending for 2 amazing hours (or more).

I have to go to the movies this weekend. And I am! I told Mr. Swee"tea" (get it? Sweetie! Thank you terriavidreader for the clever nickname...I think he'll like it much better than Mr. STD) that we are heading to the theater tomorrow night!

I can't wait :)

But I want to ask my new friends for some advice on what to see! Since I've been living under a log {actually more like buried under research of the supply/demand/inflation/GDP of hybrid vehicles in the US market} for awhile now, I *NEED* your opinions!

I've narrowed it down to:

1. Slumdog Millionaire
2. Taken
3. The Curious Case of Benjamin Button
4. The International

Of course I want to see He's Just Not that into You and Confessions of a Shopaholic, but I would feel a *teensy* bit bad for dragging the boyfriend along for those...

Any opinions are greatly appreciated!!

Have a terrific thursday ya'll!

I heard Slumdog was AMAZING..it won 8 Oscars--but I've never seen it.

I have seen Ben Button and LOVED it!! Me and boyfriend went and saw that and he really enjoyed it as well--it makes you think, is funny (not hysterical) and has a love story--only negative is its kinda long.. I believe 2hr 45min.

ENJOY! Have some popcorn for me PLEASE!

I haven't seen any of them, but in our circle of couples the general consensus on Ben Button was that the girls loved it and the guys HATED it... so maybe pass on Ben Button.

Taken might be a good choice for a date movie, personally I like that kind of movie as much as cheffie.

I think slum dog millionaire would make me too sad. The kids in the movie actually reside in the slums where it is filmed :*(

DO NOT see International it is terrible!! I would have seen all four (I am a Flim major) and I would rank them...
1- Slumdog- Amazing in all aspects
2- Benjamin Button- Amazing but sad
3- Taken- Great Adventure

I didn't love benjamin button. the effects weirded me out. I've heard Taken is good and suspenseful. I really liked Slumdog.

For the record, during our movie marathon of the last 5 weeks, my husband liked He's Just Not That Into You the best. It's a fun movie

Slumdog Millionaire was a great movie! I suggest that one!

I heard Benjamin Button was too long and boring!

I heard that Benjamin Button was really sad, and could kinda mess you up emotionally. It sounds wierd to say that about a movie, but after hearing what people have said about it, I don't want to see it anymore. I am too emotional.

I heard that Taken was really good.

If it's any consolation - the last movie I saw in a theater was House Bunny. No lie.

I would say Benjamin Button if you want to be completely taken to another time and place. :)

Okay now I really feel like a hermit. I have not been to a movie theatre since, well, um...I'm thinking! Dang it a really long time.
So I can't help with the movies but Mr. Cookie said that he would like to see "He's just not that into you". Go figure. He really does like "chick Flicks" :)

i've seen Benjamin Button and Slumdog. I would choose Slumdog, Here is why.

Benjamin Button is VERY long and very sad and you leave feeling down. BUT, Brad Pitt gets hot halfway through and it shirtless for about 20 minutes (that is worth it)

Slumdog is a terrific movie that I"ve seen twice. It is a great moving story that will leave you feeling good!

Slumdog Millionaire, for sure - it was such a great, feel-good movie. There are sad parts, but there are also unbelievably happy parts.

Benjamin Button was one of the worst movies I've ever seen. It was 3 hours of a snoozefest.

Haha - so I was totally going to say Confessions of a Shopaholic or He's Just Not that Into You because I want to see those, but then I kept reading! I think my husband would rather sit in a lecture about how moss forms or something than go to one of those movies with me! I vote for Slumdog Millionaire. I really want to see that.

Hey I dont know you :-) I found your blog through Candace's . . . but Taken is a great movie - lots of action. And I really liked the Curious Case of Ben Button, but my husband and dad hated it - they thought it was boring :-) I think we're going to see Slumdog Millionaire tonight - I've heard it's amazing!

Slum Dog Millionaire was awesome! I would highly recommend it! I was skeptical at first, because I had no clue what it was going to be about. Let us know what you see and what you think! Have a great weekend! :)
