Monday Blues

Giveaway winner is posted here.

I'm back at work.  What a feeling when you go to bed on Sunday night and know that it's back to the grindstone when you open your eyes again.  I wish the weekend could be 3 days long.  It seems unfair to have a 5 day workweek and only a 2 day recovery period.  I think God would have wanted it to be 4 and 3...

Anyway, I had quite the busy weekend.  Not only did I have school work to finish, I also had overtime for work to complete.  On top of all that, I had made a prior committment to provide a cupcake tasting for a lovely lady interested in using my services for her small wedding.  I was in the kitchen Friday night, Saturday morning, and all day Sunday preparing 5 batches of cupcakes and complementing frostings.  While I only need 2 cupcakes of each flavor for the tasting (10 total), I had to make full batches.  I ended up with over 96 cupcakes sitting on my counter.  What a temptation, but I'm proud to say that I resisted the urge to indulge because my weigh in is today so I didn't want to ruin all my hard work this past week.  Let's just say my neighbors, friends and coworkers are quite pleased with my labor and reaped the benefits.  I'm happy because I really do love making others happy so what better way to do that then through the stomach!

DBF and I also had some friends over for Super Bowl Sunday...friends that brought beer and chips with dip.  Yikes!  DBF made homemade pizza and everyone was eating and drinking.  Except me.  I had a lean pocket and some pita chips (1 pt per serving) with fat free salsa.  I felt pretty good about that.  After the game, we went to work out and I did the eliptical machine for 1 whole hour plus 5 minutes of cooldown for a total burn of 714 calories!  Whoo hoo!

So tonight is the dreaded weigh in.  I feel like I had a really great week and stayed on plan, really watching and listening for/to my body signals.  But I always feel like my WI is going to be bad.  Then again, I think everyone feels that way.  I will update tomorrow with results.  I am {(so)} close to 10 pounds, I can taste it.  And I want it.  Bad.
