Yesterday, the bf and I went to an afternoon Dodgers game! The game was at 12:40 pm so we just bought our tickets when we got there. Of course we wanted the cheapest section so we ended up on the top deck. It didn't seem extremely hot at the time, but the sun was definitely making it's afternoon appearance. After 2 hours of sitting there, we both realized that we were incredibly SUNBURNED! That's the price you pay for cheap seats I guess!!
Today is overcast and gray so I am feeling lazy. Have I told you that the bf starts his first official week at his new work tonight? He had training all last week and he was "lucky" enough to be given the graveyard shift (9 pm - 5 am) for now!! Better him than me - he's more of a night owl than I am, that's for sure!
Anyway, I used to be really good about cooking dinner at home at least 3 nights a week, but at some point, we have fallen back on relying on take out and fast food for dinner. Not good for our wallets or our waistlines! This week I am recommitted to making dinner at home and we actually came up with our menu for the week and are excited about grocery shopping after church today!
Since the window from 6 pm (when I get off work) and 8:30 pm (when he leaves for work) is pretty much the only time I will see him, these dinners are important - for our relationship and our tummies!!!!
Have a great day!

I love the cheap seats for baseball games! Turner Field (ATL) has the best ones :) yay! for the bf, although I'll tell you the night shift sucks! The Boyfriend works 3pm - 3am so during the week we don't really see each other except if we're sleeping -- good luck with the dinner cooking.
My husband works nights at a restaurant and it is hard to keep myself awake at night to see him. We found that on his days off we try to spend as much time togther as possible.
Looks like fun!! I can't wait for regularly sunny days (and sunburns!) here!
I have given a lot of thought recently to giving up take out for a specific period of time. I guess my own little version of Lent, although I am not Catholic. LOL :)
It's so tough because it's just so darn convenient! I hear ya though, not good for the wallet or that number on the scale.
Awww, I miss me some SoCal! Thanks for posting these pix. *wipes tear from eye*
xoxo Caroline
I can't wait to hear what meals you are planning for this week. I too love those hours late in the day when I'm cooking in the kitchen and Jim and I can sit and visit over some wine and catch up on our day. Glad you are re-committing to homemade meals!
Fun! I used to go to baseball games strictly for the suntan/burn I was pretty much guaranteed to get! And you look so cute in your pic, sunburn or not!
I'd love to hear about all your meals. I'm trying to change to more whole, less processed food. Plus, when the semesters over, I'm going gluten free for a while to see if that makes me feel any better!
Have a great week!
The cheap seats can be more fun that the good seats sometimes. You had a nice view of everything! It sounds like a fun day. I love going to baseball games.
That is great that you're going back to dinners at home. I go through the same thing and then once we run out of stuff, we go back to takeout and restaurants. Not good at all! I think it will be nice for you to sit down, catch up and and enjoy a meal together now that you and bf have different schedules.
A Dodger game without Manny! Figures, doesn't it? Have you ever been to Phillippe's near Union Station and Olvera St.? THE best ever LA haunt. Glad you had fun!
Oh no! I hope your sunburn is now nicely fading to a tan!
I'm sorry that your bf is working night shifts now. Atleast you guys have a little time together at nigths. Whats on your menu for this week?
Oh la la! What fun and you look just darling. Thanks for entering the swap, I am soooooo excited. Xoxo-BLC
I LOVE baseball games!! You're pics have me missing LA. :)
