For dinner, we decided to go to Jitlada, a popular Southern Thai restaurant. C used to live near the restaurant so he's been dozens of times, but it was the first time for me. All I knew is that Jitlada is home to some of the spiciest food in AMERICA! I'm serious. And stupid me decided it would be a good idea to try some of it...
Spicy Scallops
Deep fried scallops sauteed with fresh mint leaves, chili, and garlic sauce
Steamed Mussels
Fresh green-lip mussels steamed with lemon grass and mint leaves
Jungle Curry
Tons of food bloggers [here, here and here just to name a few] have written about their adventures to Jitlada. I read all of them before I went, and I agree with the general consenus, IT'S SPICY!
And just to show you how hot it really was, I'm going to share the following pictures with you, against my better judgment.
this is the face of pain!

The next two dishes are so hot that they aren't even on the regular menu. I don't even think I can begin to describe to you the level of spiciness in these dishes.

I LOVE spicy stuff, especially thai, this would be right up my alley. Looks so yummy!!!
something sushi Im sure... i stay away from lots of spicy stuff!!! xxxoo
I love spicy food (not too hot though, lol!), but only if it still has flavor! I hate when I order something spicy, and it's just plain hot, with no flavor whatsoever!
Oohhh looks so good!! I went to a Brazilian restaurant here in New York for dinner last Thursday, and something that I got..some coconut shrimp soup dish..was SO spicy but so good!
I once ate at a Thai restaurant and ordered like a 7 on the spice scale, halluncinated, believed I saw cats walk into the restaurant, and almost passed out. Last time I did that. Ha. Everything looks great - and delicious! I love your pics!
Everything in the pictures looks great! I don't eat a lot of spicy food, so I don't think I could've handled it, but I love hearing all about it!
You're so cute!!! Everything looks delicious. I'm starving right now, I could use some yummy food now.
I love spicy food, the spiciest thing I can think of at the moment is when I have pho I add a lot of spiciness to it.
Ok now you have me adding this to my try list. I had Natalee Thai for lunch today and I couldn't get it spicy enough!
