Movies

Let me just start this post by saying that while I love to watch movies, I really only like to watch the ones that I've already seen numerous times. See, I'm kind of an anxious person, and if I don't know what's going to happen in a movie, then I get all stressed and my palms get sweaty. I also fast forward through parts I have bad feelings about...are any of you like this??!

Here are some movies I just recently watched {some with persuasion from the bf, of course} and enjoyed:

I loved The Proposal! I thought it was the perfect romantic comedy. I also liked that it didn't drag on and on like other movies in the same genre. I adore Sandra Bullock and think she is America's Sweetheart; so genuine, beautiful, and down-to-earth. I also thought that the movie was the perfect mix of funny and heart-wrenching moments.

Let the Right One In is based on a novel by Swedish author, John Ajvide Lindqvist. The story is about a 12-year-old social outcast, Oskar, and his relationship with his new neighbor, Eli. As their relationship grows, Oskar discovers that Eli is a vampire stuck in a little girl's body. The movie isn't scary at all, it's more of a twisted love story. It's tragic, but really beautiful. Does that make sense? Have any of you seen this movie or read the book? I'd be interested in knowing your thoughts if you have.

I finally got around to seeing Up last week. This was one of those movies where I heard it was sad because of the old man so I didn't really want to see it. I'm such a baby. Needless to say, I ended up loving it. The dog, Doug, was my absolute favorite! The story was fast-paced and exciting and there were so many funny lines.

Well, I can honestly say that I never thought I would see Twilight. I have just had no interest in the series. But it came up on Netflix a couple of weeks ago so I thought I'd watch it to see what all the fuss was about. I'm hooked now! I flew through the first one and couldn't wait to see New Moon. Loved it! Prior to these movies, I was the biggest K*risten Stewart hater, but there is something about her portrayal of Bella Swan that makes her endearing. I'm anxiously awaiting the third movie, Eclipse, this summer!

Any other movie recommendations
for this nervous movie watcher??!

{ps - please let me know if you are an anxious movie watcher too...i don't want to be the only one!}

I have seen all of these movies except the vampire one, which sounds kind of interesting. I am a HUGE movie fan but I do like to watch my favorites over and over.

I hope you have a wonderful week!

I know exactly what you mean about the anxious movie watching. I get really panicky and stressed if I think something bad is going to happen. As in I get up to do something to distract myself until that moment passes. I am also very easily upset by violence & people being mean to old people. I have no idea what caused this but my husband thinks it is crazy. UP was such a cute movie!

We actually saw "Up in the Air" recently & I was pleasantly surprised. It wasn't really a "happy ending" type of movie - which is really the only type I watch. But, the characters were engaging, even charming and the unique storyline kept me guessing. Since it was a pick by the Hubs, I'll have to give him credit... he did probably like it a bit more than me :-)

I do get super anxious like that too!! I don't fast forward through things but I often cover my eyes and wait for parts to be over.

I do like the Twilight series but I don't love Kristen Stewart as Bella.

Hope your Easter was good!

If you like Sandra Bullock you will like All About Steve - there were so many times we would burst out laughing when we watched it!

I LOVED The Proposal. Hilarious movie! I'm a big Twilight fan, but I'm not the biggest fan of Kristen Stewart. She's definitely one of the actresses you either love or hate. I want to see the Blind Side - STILL haven't seen it yet!

I liked The Proposal too. A movie I watched a while ago that I really liked was "New in Town" with Renee Z. - it was cute and turned out really well....I think you'll like it if you haven't seen it yet.

If you haven't seen Away We Go yet, I highly recommend it. :)

I saw The Proposal on my way to Hawaii and loved it. Not too many romantic comedies hold my attention these days, but this one definitely did.

Geof has seen Let the Right One in, but I have not. This is still on the list and I’ve heard really good things about it. I also have not seen Up. My friend Colleen suggested this one to me. I’ll have to rent it.

Don’t even get me started on the Twilight saga. I love it all! I’m not a big Kristen Stewart fan either, but she is good as Bella.

I hope you had a Happy Easter…XOXO

I'm a fairly anxious movie watcher as well...but my mom is the worst! She actually gets up and leaves the room when she thinks something bad is going to happen :) So cute!

If you don't mind watching a foreign film with subtitles...Amelie (a french movie) is just simply amazing! You can think of it as sort of an artsy love story!

I loved Up! I like all the Pixar movies, but I loved Up far more than I had expected. And I definitely cried during the opening sequence.

As for Twilight, I'm sure you've heard this a million times, but if you liked the movie you should read the books. As good as the movie may be, the books are so much better

I love Sandra Bullock!!! I have to say, I can't think of any that she stars in that I didnt like... I know that Nicholas Sparks is a great writer, but after seeing a few of the movies made from his books...I will NOT watch another one, cuz they are so sad! Beautiful, but I really like a happy ending! I do like action and adventure movies too...no scary movies or ones that show an injustice being done.

Actually, on my latest post, I mentioned the movie Karate Kid. I think I would like to see the re-make version coming out this summer with Jackie Chan and Jaden Smith.

Blessings & Aloha!

I haven't seen all of these movies, but my husband and I liked "The Proposal" and "Twilight." I'm afraid I don't have any recommendations because we usually don't get to the movies. We watch most of them in Video On Demand. I hate waiting, but by then I've heard which ones are good. LOL

I've given you an award over at my blog. Don't worry about doing the whole award thing. It's mostly a shout out for your blog.

glad you have seen some good movies! I can't believe you just joined on the Twilight train! YAY! It took me a while but I got hooked too. I loved the Proposal

I haven't seen the vampire one or Up yet, but thanks for the heads up. I'll Netflix them ;)

I just recently watched New Moon. I wasn't a big Twilight person, but when I saw it I really liked it. New Moon on the other hand, eh, it was OK I guess. I agree with Kristen Stewart though. There is something about her I am just not too fond of...

Thanks for commenting on my blog =)
