are you wearing green today?

Happy St Patrick's Day!

Over the weekend I made some sweet treats to send to the mystery man and his family {he is in Key West...sad for me, good for him!} for St. Patrick's Day. I really wanted to try my hand at decorated sugar cookies, but was apprehensive about it. Luckily, I had Pink Martinis and Pearls to turn to! Do you read her blog? If not, you really should and if you do, then you already know how talented she is when it comes to baked goods, especially sugar cookies!

So with a little help and some good directions and tips, I set out to do the impossible. And for a novice sugar cookie baker, I think they turned out great! Also, got the reviews from mystery man and they're all positive, thumbs up!

Thank you so much Pink Martinis and Pearls for your excellent instructions, detailed pictures, and helpful tips! I know these are pretty basic, but I have a feeling I'll be trying more designs in the near future since I'm no longer afraid of the decorated sugar cookie :)

{sorry for the horrible picture quality}

Those cookies look fabulous! Good job! Where can I get the recipes for these?

Also, I started a blog that I think you might like too. It combines fashion and giving back to charities. Each week, I will give away 1 Lilly Pulitzer dress (this week it’s the Pink Adelson Shift from Spring 2010) to one lucky follower, who raises awareness of the blog's selected charity through various ways such as tweeting about it or commenting with an interesting fact. I am currently also giving away some great Lilly stationary items too. Please check out my blog at www.shop4charity.blogspot.com because doing good is chic!

hey preppy blog readers,

check out my new preppy lifestyle blog with a weight losee twist:

"Once a model, now a Waddle"

www.onceamodelnowawaddle.blospot.com

I am a twenty-something, first-time-blogger. I have struggled with my weight my whole life. Shopping in my closet is like going to the GAP-- I have jeans from size 2 to size 16. My weight can fluctuate by 100 pounds. And because of this, I have been afforded the opportunity to live many types of lives over the past ten years. At my thinnest, I was model signed to a major agency in Miami. As I gained weight, I switched focus from my looks to my smarts. I graduated from law school and started working as an attorney. Now, 100 plus pounds heavier and a bona fide waddler, my memories of photo shoots and the glamorous life are a distant fog. Please join me on my journey from model to waddle and hopefully back again.
