Look!

Are you guys watching Smash?

I really liked the pilot episode, didn't like the next two episodes, liked the 4th one, and REALLY liked this week's. I am going to continue to watch for two reasons - 1) Chris is IN LOVE with Kathrine McPhee and 2) my sister-in-law Amy is real-life friends with Raza Jaffrey. He plays Dev on the show, and I think he does a fantastic job! (I'm really hoping he doesn't cheat on Karen with RJ because that would not be cool.)

Anyway, I decided to tweet him last week, and I received a response! From a celebrity! I was so excited. But now that I think about it, I shouldn't have said "convinced" because that sounds like I really had to be talked into watching it, which wasn't the case. Now I feel bad...oops.

The John he is referring to is my brother (Amy's husband)! So cool :)

Now let's see if Bobby Deen responds to the tweet I sent him...

Also, I had to share this with everyone! Cupcake ATMs. I'm speechless!

The night I ate dinner next to Gavin Rossdale...

...and I didn't even get a picture of him! He was there, I swear!!

Gavin, his kids, and their nanny were eating dinner at the new Chi Dynasty in Studio City, CA on Wednesday night, and my head was literally less than 2 feet away from Gavin's!! Ha! Here's an article showing little Kingston dressed up as Superman on his way into dinner Wednesday night.

----------------------------------

The backstory: C has lived in Los Feliz for about 7 years, and this is where the original Chi Dynasty is. It's one of his (and now mine) favorite Chinese restaurants. In fact, we went there for Valentine's Day this year! Anyway, C has been going there for many years, and has seen Gavin there (Gavin and Gwen used to live in Los Feliz) on several occasions...I guess he loves Chi as much as we do!

So on Wednesday we decided to head to Studio City to check out the newly opened location. We were seated and I was taking pictures of everything around me because I was so excited. I turned my head to the right and I made eye contact with someone who I thought looked familiar. 2.5 seconds later, I realized it was Gavin Rossdale!! I am pretty sure he smiled at me :) But of course, I respect celebrities and there was no way I was going to take a picture with him while he was enjoying dinner with his family.

So instead, you'll just have to see my pictures from the evening...sans Gavin!

first course: beijing duck crepes

main course: orange chicken

two thumbs up for the new Chi

I'm probably giddy because Gavin just looked at me

Have a great weekend, friends! C and I are headed to Encinitas tomorrow for some fun in the sun!

My Encounter with the Stars

My friend Kate shares my love of silver foxes...hehee! I'm not ashamed to admit that I watch NCIS just so I can see Mark Harmon {actually, it's a really great show and he's an added bonus}. Monday night, Kate and I ventured to the Saban Theatre for PaleyFest 2010. The cast of NCIS, along with their producers, writers, and directors, were there to talk about the show, themselves, and anything else the audience wanted to know.

One of the best parts of the evening was getting to see the NCIS episode, Mother's Day, before it aired {last night's episode} and without commercials! The cast really seems to enjoy each other and I love how they are all so appreciative of the show and the fans. I feel that if I were to run into any of them in a public setting, they'd be more than happy to sign an autograph or pose for a picture. They seemed to genuinely love acting!

I had such a great evening, and still can't believe that I was in the same room as some of my favorite celebrities! In fact, I was about 3 feet from Cote de Pablo and Michael Weatherly when the cast was signing autographs at the end of the show. It was a madhouse at the front, but Kate managed to get both of our tickets signed by the very handsome Michael! It was so amazing and a memory that I'll cherish forever {corny I know, but true}!

{kate's hand in front of Michael!!!}

Things I Noticed/Learned:
  • Michael Weatherly is married??! Since when?
  • Cote de Pablo is very giggly and cute...like a little girl.
  • Now that I've seen "Tony" and "Ziva" together in real life, I really want them to get together on the show! They just seem so comfortable as "Tiva."
  • Sean Murray got reaaaaaallllllyyy skinny. His new look had me concerned because he really doesn't look healthy. He also didn't talk very much or seem to be having as good a time as the other actors.
  • Rocky Carroll seems like a nice guy! I love to hate him on NCIS because he does a lot of things that make me angry, but in real life, he is very gracious and appreciative.
  • Actors are much shorter in real life than they seem on tv {with the exception of Michael}.
  • Fans are CRAZY when it comes to the chance at getting an autograph. I got squished, pushed, and stepped on while trying to get close to the stage.
Thank you Kate for inviting me to the show!

PS - Stay tuned for my Las Vegas weekend recap!!
